The Visualizations

How we made sense of the data.
For majority of our visualizations below, the categories of calls we chose to focus on include Medical Incidents, Alarms, Fires, Traffic Incidents, and all Other. We chose to use these groups as the main aspect of our visualizations because we thought it would be interesting to see who responds to these different types of emergencies, when they occur, and where they originate. It is a large amount of data that that can be analyzed from many different angles, which is what we aimed to do.

Below are our breakdowns of each grouped category:
Fires: structural fires, outside fires, vehicle fire, smoke investigations, and explosions
Other: extraction, aircraft emergencies, assist police, citizen assist, elevator/escalator rescue, water rescue, fuel leak, gas leak, hazmat calls, and unexpected odors
