This dataset shows shows how the majority of the sponsors contributed to the affordable housing. The pie chart represents the unit type, just like the pie chart on the map. If we hover over the pie chart, the data filters by the unit type, and we can see what companies contributed to what apartment types the most. If we hover over the bar chart, the legend and pie chart will be filtered by the company, and we can explore the breakdown of all the units contributed by the selected company. Looking at this graph, it is clear that only a few companies invest in units that are more than 1/2 bedroom, which means that is is going to be almost impossible to find an affordable 3/4 bedroom unit in the future. Out of the top 10 sponsors, the only companies that develop 3/4 bedroom units are McKorman Baron Salazar and John Stewart Company.
In order to draw this dashboard, I had to manually calulate the amount of units per sponsor and enter them as an array of objects, since d3.nest didn't work with this specific data. I calculated the values using excel, and then copied them over to the code.
